# Enable payouts

tiun is your Merchant of Record: it collects payments from your customers and pays out your net revenue to you. Before it can do that, it needs to know **who receives the money** — your beneficiary details.

Until they're added, the dashboard shows an **Enable payouts** banner. You can sell in live before this step, but nothing can be paid out until it's done.

***

## 1. Open your organization

In the [my.tiun.business dashboard](https://my.tiun.business/), go to **Admin → Organization** — or click **Enable payouts** in the banner at the top of the dashboard.

***

## 2. Fill in the beneficiary details

**Beneficiary details** are who receives your payouts and who appears on your invoices.

First choose how you're **using tiun as**:

* **Business** — you sell as a registered company.
* **Individual** — you sell as a private person.

Then fill in the form. For a business, that includes:

* **Legal business name** — as registered; this goes on your invoices.
* **Company ID** — your UID from the commercial register (for example `CHE-123.456.789`).
* **Address** — street and number, an optional second line, postal code, and city.

Complete the remaining fields in the form and save.

## Payout currency

The currency you set in your beneficiary details is your **payout currency** — the currency your revenue is paid out in.

It's separate from your **business currency**, which you chose during [onboarding](/guides/getting-started/create-a-profile.md) and which every product price is denominated in. See [Currency](/reference/generic/products.md#currency) in Reference.

## When payouts happen

Payouts are sent to your bank account monthly, with a minimum payout amount; enterprise plans support custom schedules. See [How are payouts made?](/faq.md#how-are-payouts-made) in the FAQ.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.tiun.io/guides/getting-started/enable-payouts.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
